SkyREM’s 2022 Sustainability and Environmental Impact Initiatives
At SkyREM, one of our core missions is to create long term assets with upside for our clients. The most effective way to do this is to ensure we improve operating efficiency and create environmentally sustainable practices for our tenants that will allow everyone — from our staff, to their customers — to prosper. This year, the SkyREM team, and the team at subsidiary SKY Power, made even more progress towards achieving that goal than ever before.
Sky Power Renewable Energy Systems: During 2022, SkyREM extended a number of long-term leases with our business partners and clients, and brought in Sky Power to construct custom, renewable energy systems to handle the bulk power needs of those properties. Our largest installation of the year occurred at the 277,906 square foot facility that we lease to Fiskars Corporation in Wall Township, NJ. Another significant installation occurred at our 241,333 square foot facility in Meriden, CT, which is leased to Bob’s and Eastern Mountain Sports. Both of these systems are now fully operational and handling the majority of the power needs at both properties. Our company strives to ensures that all of our facilities are operating with the lowest possible carbon footprint, which is why this is just one of many measures we are taking to help produce a cleaner, safer and healthier environment.
Crown Holdings, Inc.: We also want to highlight, thank, and congratulate Crown Holdings, Inc. which leases our 330,000 square foot in Dubuque, IA property. This year, the company doubled its production capacity, creating around 20 million containers from 100% recyclable packaging. At SkyREM, there is nothing we appreciate more than working alongside partners who remain as committed to environmental protection and sustainability as we are.
Moving into 2023, SkyREM and Sky Power are excited to continue creating renewable energy infrastructure and providing value to our customers in our pursuit of a clean environment for all.
