We recently expanded our portfolio to include German-based grocery store chain ALDI with their recent leasing of the historic Quartermaster Campus in South Philadelphia. We extend a warm welcome to ALDI as they take another exciting step in their growth journey in Philadelphia.

About the Historic Quartermaster Campus

Situated in the Girard Estates community of South Philadelphia, the Quartermaster Campus consists of six buildings encompassing one million square feet spread across more than 24 acres. The new ALDI will be located at 21st and Oregon Avenue within the Quartermaster Campus and is set to develop a brand new 22,000 square foot prototype store on a pad site. This addition is the chain’s seventh location in Philadelphia and 21st within the region.

The campus has a central location between the two employment hubs of Center City and the Navy Yard. It sits in a vibrant residential community with convenient I-76 access and an array of walkable daytime activities.

The origins of the historic Quartermaster Campus date back to WWI when it became the largest purchaser and maker of textile products in the world. With a continued salute to its history, the current location displays significant art deco buildings and a clocktower at the center of the complex. Amid the redevelopment plan, the campus remains to provide its unique history, community and sense of productivity to serve the next generation in South Philadelphia. The ALDI groundbreaking is expected to take place at the beginning of Q2 of 2022 and is planned to open by the end of the year.

Our Growing Portfolio

SkyREM is a privately held, commercial real estate investment, development and management company with offices located in both Philadelphia and New York City. We aim for a large and diversified portfolio of properties located around the United States, with an established presence in the Virginia, North and South Carolina and Pennsylvania markets, including both industrial facilities and commercial properties.

I am excited to continue working with the ALDI team as they get ready to launch later this year and I’d like to thank the Colliers team who facilitated the transaction — it was a real team effort on all parts, and I look forward to building on this already beneficial relationship.
