As the founder and President of SkyREM, I am thrilled to announce the completion of our latest project — a 244,000-square-foot built-to-suit expansion in Martinsville, Virginia. Strategically located at 460 Beaver Creek dr., the facility is nestled within a qualified opportunity zone, not only representing a smart real estate investment but also underlining our approach to property development. The expansion brings the total building size to 544,000 square feet.

Tenant Growth

The facility’s long-term, single-tenant leases present a unique opportunity for us to help the tenant grow their business. The compound’s longstanding tenant, Keeco, a leading home textiles supplier established in 1976, offers an extensive array of top-quality products.

SkyREM’s journey towards completing this expansive project began in early 2022. The completion of this expansion aligns seamlessly with Keeco’s long-term growth strategy. This state-of-the-art facility now totals an impressive 544,000 square feet, solidifying Keeco’s position as one of the largest pillow manufacturing facilities in the United States.

An Upgraded Infrastructure

Prior to this latest expansion, the facility had already undergone substantial renovations in 2021, including the addition of seven loading docks. Yet, with our additional expansion of 244,000 square feet, the space not only accommodates Keeco’s expanding operations but also streamlines its processes. It allows Keeco to consolidate from two separate facilities into one, thereby enhancing its overall efficiency and responsiveness in meeting customer demands. The completion of the expansion along with its strategic location, elevates the property to a new level of sophistication, boasting 36-foot clear heights, dock and grade-level loading, and 150-foot truck courts. Coupled with ample parking spaces for both vehicles and trailers, the property has firmly established itself as an industry leader.

A Testament to Strategic Collaboration

I am pleased that here at SkyREM, we have partnered with such a crucial tenant. Understanding the critical nature of their existing facility and the need for additional space, we took the initiative to design, mobilize, and construct this expansion. As both SkyREM and Keeco look towards a future marked by growth and innovation, this expansion stands as a testament to the power of strategic collaboration and forward-thinking investments. With the completion of this state-of-the-art expansion, SkyREM reaffirms its position as a leader in providing tailored real estate solutions that empower businesses to not only thrive but also expand their horizons.
